Candidate Statements:
Elementary Vice President:
Election is on Tuesday 5/23
Maura Coghlan (incumbent):
My name is Maura Coghlan, and I am running, as incumbent for the Elementary Vice President position. I have been a proud member of our UTS since 1988. During my time at Seaford, I have been a teacher at the Manor, in grades Kindergarten through Fourth, where I have collaborated with my Harbor and Manor colleagues in planning, developing, and writing curriculum.
When my son graduated Seaford High School in 2015, I felt it was my time to become more involved in our Union, so I ran and was elected to the Executive Board. Being in this position, I truly got to see the tireless dedication of the UTS Executive Board to all members of our Union. I was able to appreciate first-hand the importance of the history of our Union with equal respect for planning on how to move it forward to meet the needs of our newer UTS members. My proudest moment came when I was elected to be your Elementary Vice President. As an officer of our Union, I have dedicated myself to working hard for you in all ways possible. As many of you know, I am very approachable, a good listener, open to any innovative ideas and/or suggestions that could make our Union even stronger. I have negotiated contracts with different officers and changing administrations, with the goal always being to support the members of the UTS first. If re-elected, I promise to continue to dedicate myself to our UTS by not only doing what is required of me as the Elementary Vice President, but by also demonstrating honesty, empathy, integrity, and vigilance.
Therefore, I humbly ask for your support in our upcoming election for Elementary Vice President of the UTS.
Yours in unity,
Maura Coghlan

Suzanne Mooney:
My name is Suzanne Mooney,
I started working at Seaford High School in 1997. I moved to the Harbor Elementary School in 2004. I became a union representative when I began working at the Harbor. I have been advocating and supporting my colleagues ever since. I would like to become a bigger part of the process as your Elementary VP. I would like to continue communicating with our members and our administration on all levels. I will use my voice to speak up for you. I am short, not very sweet and to the point. I am asking for your vote.
Thank you,
Mooney
